March in Eureka Springs comes in like a lion, but the peace of Pond Mountain Lodge awaits you. There’s music, St. Patrick’s parade, kite flying, daffodils and all of the beauty that comes with our favorite season. Our lovely town nestled in the scenic Ozark mountains is full of exciting galleries, fabulous restaurants, fun activities, hiking trails, rivers and lakes. And of course, there’s our twin ponds and the 130-acre estate of Pond Mountain to explore.
St. Patrick’s Parade: March 17th: Eureka Springs celebrates St. Patrick’s Day in a big big way! The parade steps off at 2pm thru Spring and Main Streets in downtown Eureka Springs. Wear your green and join the fun. The Krewe of St. Barkus leads the way and their “Gone to the Dogs” after party in the Dog Park is a great time for all. Those of us not escorting canine friends tour the pubs in celebration of St. Paddy
Come Fly a Kite: March 24th: “Art with an Altitude”. The 27th Annual Eureka Springs Kite Festival takes place at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, 7 miles south of Eureka Springs on scenic Hwy. 23 S. Entry to the kite festival is free: enjoy food vendors, contests, music and fun activities for parents and children alike. Entry into the refuge to see the lions, tigers and bears, is normal pricing at $20 for adults, $15 for teens (13-19), $10 for children (4-12)/Seniors (65+)/Military, children under 3 are free. For more info call KaleidoKites at 479-253-6596 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Music: March 25th, Eureka Springs House Concert featuring Sarah Clanton. Sarah Clanton’s folk-rock-meets-speakeasy sound is a celebration of the unexpected. We hear that “the classically trained singer-cellist-songwriter strums, bows, picks, and taps her instrument through heartbreak and vengeance on songs that grab you by the collar and refuse to let go. Her vocals can go from moonlit night to house on fire on a dime, with a tone that blends smoke with sunlight and lands somewhere between Nina Simone and Gillian Welch.” Sounds like an evening of delight!
Just a few minutes drive from Eureka Spring’s shops, fabulous restaurants, exciting nightlife, live music, local brews, fine wine, museums. Take a nap so you can stay up late …. or just relax with us in your cabin or suite & enjoy that jacuzzi & fireplace.
Have a bit more time to stay? Our “Cabin in the Woods Lodging Special” is a great deal: stay with us 5 nights, receive 6th & 7th night free! Or our “Sweet Suite Special”; stay 3 nights, Sunday – Thursday only, get the 3rd night free.
